The US President is considered to be the most powerful person in the world and is generally watched by media from all parts of the world. Obama in proving to be more than a mere US President by even bagging the Noble Prize in the very first year in his office. By being a world leader in getting his way around through consensus, he is now wooing the two most important nations in the East, namely Japan and China. The former had been an arch foe just a few decades ago and the the latter is fledgling its muscles as an economic superpower in the coming decades which neither the US nor the rest of the world can stop. By giving a full fledged bow to the Japanese King and by declaring Tibet as an integral part of China, the President has invited both these nations to toe his line in the future. Both these countries have been at war for many centuries and may not necessarily accept Obama's proposals at the cost of their self dignity and security. China has been curbing the rise of democracies like Japan, South Korea and India in the continent by indirectly aiding dictatorships like North Korea and Pakistan and it is for Obama to judge who his true friends are going to be in the long run!

The Afghan government should get all the support they need to establish a professional military that can withstand any onslaughts from extremists living in neighbouring regions. In his endeavour all the countries in the world should join hands and contribute their might - just not leaving it to the US and few Western and Eastern powers. Even an established country like India has been fighting a proxy war with terrorists and extremists from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir the last two decades, frustrating their attempts to dislodge an elected government in Kashmir. The Afghan government has to go a long way in equipping itself to fight these insurgents and need support from all the nations of the world in this matter!

Festivals, celebrations and costumes all go together. Almost all festivals are celebrated with new and suitable costume and there is no celebration sans new costumes. A psychiatrist gunning down fellow citizens is just unimaginable and that too in a military base where men are supposed to be more strong in body and mind than civilians. The suspect had applied for discharge which had been turned down. He could have just walked away and deserted his duty or the authorities could have just given him a holiday to relax and return. Instead what has happened is a bizarre event to even comprehend and no American citizen can digest this news. Whatever corrective actions are due to be taken, it is not going to bring back the lost lives of those American soldiers. This only proves that in spite of having the largest and most powerful military force on earth, the learning is still not over!
